
AOL WON'T LET GO

When trying to cancel AOL accounts I had to jump through many hoops. First there were several arguments with the service person I was speaking with. I called back to try and get a more helpful service person. This time I was given more arguments. I asked to speak to his supervisor. He said the supervisor was several 'buildings' away. I then asked him to repeat his full name for my letters to corporate headquarters. He took on a mollifying tone of voice and asked me to hold while he walked to the building where his supervisor was located. (These guys have no phones or beepers?) I waited twenty minutes on hold. A breathless service person returned to the phone telling me how much he had put himself out for me and that he had, at last, obtained the needed permission for me to cancel my accounts. (I think he was just breathless from his run back from the break room)
