AOL unauthorized charges

AOL is a horrible company to deal with. I signed up for free service through AOL. I had to cancel the service with them before 8/26/06 or I would be charged. Firstly, they starting charging me a fee of $3.95 each month without my authorization for 'FIREWALL PROTECTION.' After numerous calls to rectify this with AOL, blocking & disputing this with my bank, they discontinued this service which I'd never signed up for. I also did not receive credits for this because by bank had a block on them. Secondly, I called in mid-July to officially cancel the free service and was notified it was taken care of. They even sent me a letter to confirm (which to my regret I trashed). Well it's now November and guess what??? AOL has just billed me for $51.80 on october 30th. I called and spoke with Brad Diaz who said he didn't have a rep account ID to give me. He advised me that my account wasn't cancelled until 10/22/06, which is IMPOSSIBLE because I've been in the hospital delivering a baby--he also has no record of me ever calling to cancel the free service. Oddly enough he does have record of me complainging about the firewall service and in his notes it says I was credited, which I was not. He advises me that he CANNOT issue this credit and that the reason I am being billed now is because I've had AOL blocked from bank and it's just now going through for August and September. After arguing with him for nearly 20 minutes about this and explaining how wrong he was, also saying I have documentation he says let me talk to my supervisor. He then puts me on hold only to come back and say the same thing over again, I get irate at this point--All I kept saying over and over was 'UNACCEPTABLE. This is illegal and I refuse to end this call until I am assured that this will be credited to my account.' He puts me on hold again to 'talk' with his supervisor. He comes back to say that his supervisor suddenly showed him a way to credit this. YEAH RIGHT! I ended by saying please discard any and all of my information and he said they couldn't. End of conversation. Today is November 3rd and my account is still not credited. I called AOL back today and spoke with Patrick ID# 66770 and inquired as to why this was not credited to my account yet. He advised that it would take approx. 7-10 business days for it to post. I asked him to verify that my account was closed and there wasn't any kind of activity on it. He verified this. We'll see what happens.
