I had an email account on my brothers aol account, for we lived in the same house, and used the same computer. my mother also used the same account and computer. I was contacted by aol, and told that my brother no longer wanted the account, and that if I wanted to continue to use this account, and my email name, that I would have to take over as the masteraccount, and begin paying for it. I agreed, and made arrangement to pay. My mother, I found out later, had gotten the same letter, and did the same thing. 3 or 4 months later, when we were all talking one day, we found out that all three of us had been paying for this same account, for my brother never stopped paying, not did he ever say he was going to stop. my mother, and I both contacted aol, and not only were never reimbursed for the money payed out by all three of us, but they would not even give us 'credit' and give us the account time as reimbursement. we were just burned, and that was that.
