I don't know which personality disorder you were diagnosed with but I can say for a fact that medication can be extremely helpful during the recovery process for things like PTSD and some mood disorders. Unfortunately, some children are not so 'lucky' and end up with severe psychological disorders such as multiple personality disorder and sociopathy. The reality of trust and nurture that is supposed to be that of childhood is so smashed by the abuse that they basically create their own reality in order to survive. Once there it is hard to bring them back. Seeing these child and adult survivors is what makes me more prone to agree with your bullet in the head theory, especially when I have to listen to offenders talk about the child 'wanting it' and 'seducing me'

Being abused as a child does not validate a person becoming an abuser in any way. I definitely understand why you feel they cannot be changed. Part of the problem of pedophilia/hebephilia is the sociopathic tendency of abusers to not think what they are doing is wrong. Some of them even claim the child seduced them or they were merely 'educating' the child. This fact makes these people all the more dangerous and our need to address the problem all the more imperative. There is no medicinal cure because the disease is not physiological, it is psychological. In all likelihood their brain chemistry was altered by their own abuse and as time went on they adopted an abusers mindset. But such individuals can rewire themselves through theraphy if not to the point of being 'cured' then at least to the point where they can control themselves. We need to recognize that these people do not empathize with their victims, they don't believe they can control their actions, and in a contradictory irony experience a great deal of UNRESOLVED shame/guilt, which further fuels their abusive actions.

I too was abused but I just don't see how that allows people to grow up and become abusers themselves. It's just not a valid excuse. I don't think there is a way to change it I think you've just got to catch the ones you can and lock them up really. There's not a cure or a magic medicine, not in my opinion anyway.

I get your rage. I was sexually abused from 4 to 7 myself and part of my recovery involved wanting to cut off the dick of every child molester in the world/shoot them in the head. So I get that, but I should point out to you that child sex abuse has little to nothing to do with sex. There are innumerable reports of castrated sex offenders who reoffend. There disorder is more complex than mere sexual compulsion - that is just a symptom of their own underlying issue. We need to address the issue which ultimately is their desire to abuse children, which can only be described as...well irrational at best and insane at worst. Some say it should be addressed medicinally but I still think psychotherapy is the best route since it attacks the 'disease' rather than the symptoms. Obviously, this is not easy and most people agree with you that we should just shoot them. However, abusers are often protected by the conspiracy of silence they create around them for years, which allows them to abuse dozens and dozens of children. Some of those kids grow up to be abusers unfortunately. We gotta nip this thing in the bud not try to prune here and there. Oh and Children's Services along with the psychiatric/psychological/educational resources available to child victims of sexual abuse/incest is abysmal...

Paedophilia cannot be 'cured' and as a matter of fact I work with kids in care who've suffered all kinds of letdowns in their lifes. I'm really not sure how underfunded these things are in your area so I cannot comment about that and the statistics on abusers and 7 out of 10 of them being family members is unquestionable also, however I disagree about there being any successfull form of rehabilitation for these 'people' other than castration and I think you fall in to the category of a paedophile talking shit.

Free speech means people can come on here and say whatever they want to say. If the owners of the website want to take it down that is their perogative, not yours. Frankly, I consider their confessions to be an opportunity (albeit slim) to push them towards a cessation of their abuse. The fact is people post confessions on here to 1) get something off their chest and 2) see how people respond. As a children's advocate against abuse of all kinds I can tell you your threats won't stop abusers. In fact, I think you fall into the category of people who are okay with keeping people like me underfunded and undermanned, however, you don't want to have to see what we deal with everyday (sexual abuse and its effects on children/adults) so you say and do things like the above. If we are going to stop child sex abuse we have to start dealing with the people who commit it, figure out why they do it (hint: it is NOT an orientation/inborn quality), and how they can recover). Furthermore, we have to help assuage the pain caused by incest/sexual abuse's after effects such as alcoholism, sex addiction, and depression (among many other problems). Most importantly, we need to teach our children the truth about sex and their right for their own bodies not to be abused, even by their own family - who account for 7 out of 10 child victims BTW.

But if you're in the US or UK remember that some public spirited souls have acted in a similar manner but then found themselves arrested for 'possessing' the very material about which they planned to complain.
