A friend cast aside

While growing up I moved a lot and was usually bullied some - not a lot and it didn't bother me to much as it does with some. There was a girl 'Leah' that was also picked on during the 7th grade and I was starting to become friends with her. She was nice and I was not sure why she was picked on. One time while walking through an area where there was no one else around the head ass wipe of a bully came through and started flicking her shit. I decided to also turn on her and hope he would end up liking me. He did not end up liking me and she stopped being my friend. - I move away as usual within a year and forgot all about her and the guilt didn't last long. It didn't bother me to much at the time but a few years later I found out she committed suicide during the ninth grade. I tried to convince myself I did not cause it but still today 30 years later feel guilt. I may not have caused her suicide but I could have kept it from happening.

We all make mistakes when we're young because we don't think it will cause any big problems. I get it, you where her friend but you wanted more friends. We've all made that mistake. Don't blame yourself, she must have had other problems. Even if you two staid friends you still would have moved.
