XBOX360 - dies in months - told by company the war

Grandma was kind enough to buy our sons (ages 17, 15 & 9) an XBox 360 for Christmas in 2005. Well, she couldn't find one in stock so she wrapped them an advertisement for it and told them she would buy it as soon as it was in stock. She finally was able to get one from Walmart in the Spring of 2006. The kids each purchased a new XBox 360 game ($40-60 each) and enjoyed playing for a few months. Last month (September 2006) our XBox 360 stopped working. We called the company directly, assuming there was some 'reset' button to fix the problem but instead were told that 'It was shot' and probably could not be repaired but we could mail it to them and pay $139 plus shipping both ways to have them look at it. I was so upset and frustrated that a $400 game (over $500 when you include the games to play the unit) could 'die' in a matter of months and the company didn't even blink an eye. I will search for every site in my power to let as many people as I can know that this company does not stand behind the Xbox 360.
