Wrongful Billing

For the last 12 months or so, I have been billed by a rehab center from where I was discharged on December 1, 2004. About a year later, they started sending me an invoice claiming that I owe them thousands of dollars. Upon my inquiry over the last several months, they have given me conflicting reasons for the invoice, such as my 1. I had no insurance coverage. Not true. 2. They had erroneously issued me a check which I had cashed. Not true, especially since they refused to send me a copy of the negotiated check. They are still sending me a monthly invoice, and I suspect negligence or fraud on the part of the rehab center. I am now considering filing a law suit, or at least an injunction but I don't have any money to waste.
