One thing that you are forgetting is that usually this type of lifestyle is consensual therefore they have the right to do this. More like they are reinforcing the notion that THEIR man should reserve the right to discipline HIS Women (not all women, and not all men) get it? The way some couple conduct their own marriage does not and should not portray how ALL people conduct their marriages. You are not giving these people enough credit to think for themselves, you need to accept that this is something they chose, and if it is not consensual then the women always has that right to leave is she so desires. I hate the outlook that the way some couples conduct a marriage portrays what we all should do and think. Actually, the divorce rate years ago was smaller because the law made it hard to get a divorce; not because of spanking. Also, most people who claim that spanking was a regular occurrence in the home not too long ago are usually basing this on scenes from movies and television shows. I am a woman and I think you are right. After 9 years of marriage we introduced Discipline/spanking into our marriage, it is clear who is the boss now and who wears the pants. Our marriage is much smoother and happier. My husband is a very loving and caring man, not abusive. I've been raised as an independent woman and never thought I would be writing this. I also have a strong high powered job, but at home he's the boss and I gladly submit to him.
