I have been seeing a man I met through the internet for eight months but I still haven't been to his place or met his friends or family. His last girlfriend broke off their engagement as he was not committed enough. He has never said he loved me but he did buy me champagne and flowers for my birthday. He makes excuses when I ask to go to his house, saying it's messy or he knows I don't want to leave my cat overnight. The cat has now died. After my divorce I met the love of my life on the internet only to discover he was still married. The next man vanished in thin air when I suggested visiting him and the most recent one left me after two years. I can call my boyfriend anytime at home and he frequently stays with me so I don't think there is another woman. My friends and I think it's odd that I have never been to his house.

The guy for whatever reason doesn't want to be committed to you. Could be another person involved or he may just not want to let it get that deep with you. It's a long way from spending $50 on someone to saying the magic words to them. You need to accept it for what it is and leave him the freedom to whatever makes him happy. Take it for what it is or don't, your choice. You can't force it, it'll only cause resentfulness and/or division.
