None of the white men alive today did that. The practice of importing slaves was outlawed in 1808. And while we're at it - the white men didn't enslave the black in the first place. They bought blacks who had already been enslaved by other blacks in Africa. If you want to point fingers, you could start with them.

I have to say that it's both, really. In a way, I could relate to that, I've had men prove to me time and time again that it's best to avoid them, that if I don't something bad will happen to me and society will put the blame on me but then I realized, I haven't met all the men in the world. I haven't met the gentlemen that live on this Earth yet, it just isn't time for me to meet a man with class instead of "swag". Sure, the black they've met have done nothing but cause pain and suffering, but they can't honestly believe we're all like that, can they? I'm a African American, and because of that people expect, literally expect me to love rap music, to have no other talent but to play a sport, to do drugs, to steal, to harm others, to amount to nothing; all this has been placed on my shoulders because of my skin color. My train of thought is this, skin color should never matter, but what's inside is important; I know it isn't hate they feel, it's more like fear they experience. Can I blame them? No, I really can't because a mass majority of my race acts that way from what I can tell from my schools and on the television but I don't think any other race is completely scotch free either. Nobody is scotch free, and I think that no matter what, somebody is scared of another person and it may be because of what they've experienced with that certain race of people, such as the man who is upset that a African American man had raped his wife; seriously, who wouldn't be upset if such a thing had happened to a loved one? But no matter the color of the person, I think the only thing that really would have, or should have, mattered would be to catch and kill the person who thought it would be okay to mentally scare another human being. Somebody who had a life with the person they loved, a family possibly, and for somebody to rip that away from another person is wrong. None of us are equal in the United States, whites are always held above any other race but sooner or later, and I hope and pray that this will happen, the world will make a shift, and with that shift the people who inhabit this planet will start to see that a person of a different race is no different than them, and should be treated as so. But then again, who'd listen to a fifteen year old? One who's a girl? One who loves to read and draw, who loves calming music and non American music so I don't have to be called a bitch over a beat, a girl who has dreams for her future? A black girl? Nobody would listen to me about what I think, I don't matter, so I'm hoping that maybe, even if just a little bit, I made an impact on somebody with this. Sure, I can be snappy, I can be mean and rude, but I'm human, and I'd love to one day have my children in a world where they can live freely and comfortable, able to say hello to their neighbors every morning and get the same cheery response, to be happy to go to work everyday or to go to school everyday. We need to come up with a new term. "Racist" implies you hate someone because of their race. I don't hate anyone. But what word would describe someone whose personal experiences have proven time and time again that it is just best to avoid blacks. That pretending we are all "born equal" is a lie. I've personally never said I don't get paid enough. But I'm in a unique situation when it comes to finances. But anyway, I don't think it is fair, or even moral, to restrain the learning of everyone else in order to be politically correct about what is really going on in the classroom. This is the secret that teachers know but aren't supposed to talk about: Forced integration of the school systems in the 60s and 70s have wrecked education. And now, two generations into it, it's wrecking the rest of the country. How many poor or underachieving adult whites would have been better off in life if they had a better education, free from the burdens of "slow" students in the classroom? But it's not really about outcomes, it's about "feelings". We can all "feel better" knowing that we don't discriminate, even if that discrimination would actually be helpful for BOTH races.

That's understandable to have made that observation but that's all it should be. If you notice that you have to teach by making it easier for a particular group of students then that's just signs of being a good teacher. Where good teachers go wrong is putting emotion being your observation. Instead of passing judgement you should study the behavior of the "problem" group and figure out what works best for that group. It may be challenging but that's why its hard to be a teacher in the first place. Is it not a teacher's responsibility to understand and adjust to the different groups/races of their students. But hey a lot of you "teachers" think that's outside of your job description. And then you turn around a say "We don't get paid enough"....teachers in america get paid too much if you ask me. Kids today need that extra push from teachers but that demand just isn't being fulfilled.

I wasn't racist until I became a teacher. I work with 12-14-year-olds, and I can tell you, first hand, that the black students are simply incapable of doing the same level of work as the white, Asian, and Hispanic students. Every single lesson I teach I have to come up with two assessments: The regular one, and the easier one for the black students. Without them in my class, I could get so much more done. Honestly, based on my 9 years of teaching, almost every problem in public education can be traced back to one thing: blacks in the classroom.
