Why?

Why does it take a tragedy (such as 9/11) for people to come together and be good to each other? Why do people hate so much? I saw World Trade Center tonight and the biggest thing I got from this movie was how INCREDIBLE the firefighers, policemen, and just ordinary people came together to help there fellow human being. It was amazing. It was also a shame that it took something of that magnitude to make this happen. Just a complaint...
