I'm a 46 year old, single dad. Back in 2002 I was seriously injured at work. After seeing my family Dr. I sought out the expertise of a highly regarded neurosurgeon, I was advised that the injury required surgery as soon as possible. The insurance company made me wait 17 months for the operation that left me in an unbelievable amount of pain every day. The medication that I was prescribed was denied by the insurance company. I eventually had to obtain an attorney, only to find out over the past four years, is that, even with a very good attorney, the laws and statues for workers'compensation in the state of Ct. are 85 to 90% written for the benifit of the insurance company. I would very much like our representatives to look into this, and I've contacted them, and in return the responce I recieved from a senators office was, the insurance company spends millions of dollars on lobbiests in Hartford and Washington, and How much money do you have. Those were thier exact words. I.ve condensed the the whole story with the hopes someone will take notice. I close in saying, if you live and work in the state of Ct. and sustain an injury at your place of employment, the initial injury that you sustain won't be your last
