Volkswagen would not honor the warranty on my 2004 Passat. The dealership indicated that they had to go further into the engine and that I would need to approve $1000 deposit. I had the car towed to my own mechanic (cost of $220) and he advised me that all I need was a sensor which cost $175 including labor. I would recommend that no one purchase any VW since I have since discovered that this type of problem/situation is normal.
