Vic/Dawn--Tornados/Hurricanes in Florida

Here's a toast to 3 of the strongest single women I know. Vic, Dawn and my sister who are all single and all live in Florida and continue to brave the threats from hurricanes, tornados and yes, even the dreaded wolf spiders. Along with myself we 4 women have proved that we have what it takes to stand up to the odds of danger without having to rely on a man in our lives to see us through. Having survived 4 hurricanes in 2004 we have proved that we are not the type to cower or flee. My sister had an uprooted tree thrown into her home during the 2nd hurricane of 2004 and it took off the front of her house. She just got the house repaired when it was totally destroyed by the fourth hurricane of 2004. Did she move? No. Last night her new home in the same place the 2 hurricanes had wiped her out before was on the news when they showed the horrible devastation of her town from the tornados going through it. Is she going to move now? Nope! My house was hit by hurricane 4 of 2004 too. It tore off my shingles and cracked my roof in three places and caused flooding in my home. It unseated the windows of my bedroom and caused flooding in my bedroom. It was a harrowing ordeal to go through at the time but I survived. Did I move after living through a hurricane? Nope! It was my cowardly husband who had enough and took off. In December of 2005 we had a freak wind and ice storm comparable to a tornado in wind speeds. The winds pulled my roof up and almost off. It unseated a few more windows. Trees which became heavy from the ice gave way to the winds and were uprooted and fell over all around my neighborhood and one tree just missed my house. Did I move. Nope. Last night we had tornados rip through our state. Even stanno who lives in the U.K. heard about it and contacted me to see if Vic and I were alright. I had just said g'night to him and everyone I was talking to in emails when I heard the wind picking up and causing everyone's car alarms to go off. I decided to go to bed and let whatever will be, will be. I didn't even know anything had happened last night until I read my emails from everyone who wanted to know if I was ok. I turned on the news in time to see my sister's house and the devastation it did to her town. I also saw where on I-4 by Vic and I a semi was picked up and sat down on top of another semi! Neither drivers were injured. Whew! After all the damage that was done last night am I going to finally move? NOPE! Ladies...we don't give ourselves enough credit for being single and as strong willed as we are in the face of danger! We are here and we are going to continue to stay here! As stanno recently coined the phrase in his biker story...A one fingered salute to the weather!! Dawn, I have no doubt you have what it takes to make it through AA!!! Vic you are a lot stronger than you give yourself credit for and have what it takes to make it through too. You might like to have another man in your life to love, but you've certainly proved you don't 'need' one to make it in this world. You can get through all this and Dawn and I will be there for you. I don't think there's anything the 3 of us haven't survived and couldn't continue to survive and accomplish in our lives. My sister included. ooOooO)-( Cheers Ladies!
