it worries and saddens me how much british people seem to hate americans. i'm american and i'm staying in england in a suburb of london right now and our hosts threw a little dinner party in our honor to show their other british friends that not all americans are fat republican slobs. we tried out best to be anti-stereotypical but they just couldn't seem to get the image of a typical american out of their heads while talking to us. i felt very judged and unfairly so, but it was also upsetting because they are largely right in their generalizations about americans, their politics and their manners and their overall lifestyle. i wish the rest of the world didn't have to think so poorly of us.
