US Open -- Why No Refunds?

I had tickets for US Open match on 9/2. The event was cancelled due to poor weather. Now all that they offerring is either tickets for tomorrow or for next year. Well I live on West Coast. So neither of the options is satisfying to me. I have called several times and each time I ended up talking to some rude 'guest service associate,' who is unable to give me any answers. The bottom line is this. If you buy tickets from US Open/USTA then be prepared to lose your money.
