I purchased a Toshiba laptop with a full one year warranty. After a few months I discovered problems with the display and the on/off button. I sent the laptop to the Toshiba repair center in Louisville, KY and it was returned with the initial display screen problem fixed. The on/off button that controlled the ability to turn on the laptop or put the laptop in standby mode was not repaired. I returned the laptop to the repair center for the completion of the repairs explained to the Toshiba reps that I spoke with on the phone. After several telephonic conversations and explanations regarding the problems that still existed after the first repair scenario, the laptop was returned and the problems were not repaired. In fact, the laptop had more problems than existed before I sent it in for repair the second time. After discovering these additional problems, I called the Toshiba repair center and they advised me that the laptop's warranty had expired and that they could not help me. They advised me of several repair centers in my local area and I expressed my concerns that the laptop should have been properly repaired during the first two incidents. The local Toshiba repair center advised me that it would cost more to repair the laptop than it would cost to buy a new laptop. Toshiba's customer service should be a embarassment to their company's reputation. I would advise any consumer to avoid purchasing a Toshiba laptop as a result of the experience that I encountered after following the proper protocols to have this expensive laptop properly repaired.
