Threatened by DIRECTTV by reason of a DIRECTTV mis

My wife received a 20 page letter yesterday from DIRECTTV alleging that her account was a commercial account and that she had committed a Federal crime. After speaking directly with representatives from the Company and informing them of their mistake (individuals authorized by, and paid for by DIRECTTV had installed the receivers in my HOMES) a company representative told me that my account was being terminated. The reason for the termination being that I had asked for a written apology as a response to the 20 page letter of false accusation against my wife. Even though DIRECTTV has no problem threatening consumers in writing and alleging wrongdoing, they have no equal desire to acknowledge their mistakes in having done so, in writing. In fact (simply because they can legally do so) their response to being asked to act in a decent and reasonable manner was met in the most hostile of manners. As there are literally millions of subscribers to this service in the US, I take personal issue, in principle, with companies that treat consumers as though they are automatically criminals who are trying to steal from them.......and furthermore, that they are allowed to operate in a manner which, while legal, is both morally and ethically reprehensible. Sadly, legal recourse being virtually irrelevant, the only hope in pursuing these people for some remedy is to do it publicly.
