They're called Guidence Counselors why?

I am so tired of counselors telling you one class will qualify as neccesary only to a year later find out it is not. I am trying to get a journalism certificate from Shasta College in Redding, California. I was told to take a few classes by the counselor. Now as I am finished with everything I am informed that those classes won't due and I need to take other classes. It's like a scam in a way. I paid for those classes now I must pay for some more. I advise trusting NO counselors. Look it up for yourself. Trust no one! Especially when there's money on the line.
