I was very close friends with a guy during high school. He was really close with his older brother & we all went everywhere together. I had a huge crush on his older brother & never got the balls to say anything to anyone or do anything about it for many reasons. I was still in high school, he was in his mid 20's, and I found out his brother had feelings for me at one point. So of course, in time another girl (close to his age) moved in on the kill and I lost my chance. I can't stop thinking & obsessing about what could have been & even want to contact him to see. That would be ok to do except I'm married with a kid now & so is he, so I never will. I know my life would have been completely the opposite of what it is now, maybe even better. Like the song goes, he's "The One That Got Away".
