I work in an environment that only about 3 out of 15 people are teamsters. What make sme angry is that its a government job and therefore we have a different set of rules to abide by according to our contract. One being we cannot strike or picket the premisses of the employer, but in return, we are gurateed no lockouts. My main gripe is, anytime we negotiate raises, and get a wage increase, the NON union, NON dues paying employees reap the benefits of the pay increase..and they laugh at those of us in the union and think we are stupid for paying dues. This angers me to no end. If they didnt get the wage increase and the teamster members did, there would be more membership, and respect for the teamsters. Im a union steward.
