Teaching

Government officials always talk big about best interests of children, especially in education, and yet, where I live classes for elementary children can have up to 40 or 50 students per class with no assistant....one teacher....that's it. Even in Kindergarten, which isn't mandated, there are tests, tests, and more tests. There is not time for real teaching, and despite the 'No Child Left Behind Act', because of this, many children are being left behind because there is not time to teach them! When is this going to change? I've seen so many really good, seasoned teachers retire because of the stress of this situation and because of irrational, angry parents who want teachers to do their job as well as teach.
