Success was easy for me

Success was very easy for me, and I don't understand why so many people don't seem to "make it" out of poverty. I did. I was raised poor. But now I am 35, making just shy of $180K per year, and in charge of a total of 184 people at work. And all I really did was follow the rules and followed the orders of my superiors. In school, I did what the teachers asked. At work, I started at the bottom of the ladder, but never complained, always did what I was told, and now I'm here. I know some people might call me a "tool" or "momma's boy" because I never had any sort of rebellious phase or questioned my bosses. But look where it got me. Now my rebellion comes in the form of month-long vacations to the Caribbean. All that those other guys have left is the memories of better times from their youth, and the realization that they will be living paycheck-to-paycheck their entire lives. A lot of my old friends, who I follow now on Facebook, do nothing but complain about their jobs. I have zero sympathy for them. They did it to themselves. Know what I mean?

And thoughts like that - anger and jealousy at people who have it better than you - those thoughts keep the people who think them from ever getting ahead. As you waste away your best years living paycheck to paycheck in some dead end job, just remember: it's your own fault. Your own negative thinking led you to this end.

A post like this is why if you work in a restaurant you make sure you put your piss and shit in the food these wankers eat. If you work in some other line of work servicing these guys make sure you fuck them over good. Give them a dose of Ebola and watch them die.

My father worked hard his whole life, with 20 hours of overtime every week. He was a mechanic, and he told me the best advice I ever got: "You'll never get ahead in life if you're only selling your time. If you're not making money even when you sleep, you're doing it wrong." Of course, he didn't live long enough to make his own advice come true for him. But I remembered it, and now, in my 30s, I'm living it. It sounds like you're under the false belief that "hard work" means "physical labor", and wealth is all based on producing tangible things. That may have been true two generations ago, but not anymore. Programming, for example, is hard work, but it's all mental. And they don't produce anything but information. But they get paid very well for it. Yes, there are some physical labor jobs that still need to be done, but not nearly as many as their used to be. Factory jobs are kind of like farming jobs at this point - on their way to being just two percent of the workforce. And that's not necessarily a bad thing. Anyway, I guess my point is, if you must hate "the suits", make sure you have a good reason, like they did something to you personally. Not because you're jealous of them, because they made better choices.

I pretty much agree but also don't follow the advice to just work hard and stick at it and you will get ahead. Sometimes you have to tell your current boss to go fuck themselves and move along or you'll be trapped in that dead end job. I had a pretty good job and could move no further so I quit and while it hurt for a while I ended up far better off later on

Hard work builds character. The people you think are less than you could very well be better than your selfish arrogant ass.

Perhaps it's not your intention, but you sound a tad arrogant and naive. Some people are naturally born with a good understanding of how the economy works and emulating the tactics of other successful people to earn a good living, others struggle and that's a natural part of this economy. I for one struggle to make money, but I'm not claiming to be a victim, I simply choose not to engage in a 9 to 5, I would find it too tiresome.
