A few days ago I went out for a bike ride--to run a few errands and calculate the distance for a walking path. Halfway there, my hat started to blow off. It was a hat I got doing the Avon walk for breast cancer a few years ago. As it started to blow off, I tried holding it but I was also speeding up to quickly. I breaked hard and flew over the handle bars of my bike. Am still in pain now. Went to the emergency room, have a cast on my dominant hand and the worst case of road rash. I feel like such an ass. Everyone asked what happened and I can only say, I hit a pothole or I don't know. The day that it happened, people stopped and asked if they could help. They all wanted to know. I could see two guys discussing it as a stranger and me pulled away from the curb on our way to the hospital. It was just stupidity. And the sad thing, is I did this one other time about 10 years ago only it was a radio I was trying to hold onto. When will I ever learn?
