Street Mugging

Driving in the Big Apple can be great and depressing. Often, I take passengers to places I would never otherwise go. I mean both the plush and the underbelly of the city. Therefore, wanton affluence is just as common a sight to me as mugging. Yesterday, I was cruising past one of the darker alleys. The main street was choked with traffic making me stop by the mouth of the alley. And there in the crook of the public street, a man was getting beat and knifed to that. I’m used to most sights but that really got me. Two men stood over the battered, bleeding stranger kicking and knifing him repeatedly. I watched with fear unable to help. As soon as the traffic picked up, I fled the place. I feel terrible and ashamed that I was useless and could do nothing to help the man. He’s probably dead now.

I agree with you but a little more action could have been taken, granted it would have had no effect but it could have brought him peace of mind. Keep your head up and think that he is in a better part of the universe. This happen's everyday everywhere, you could have saved him but not the thousand's of others getting the same treatment.

Obviously you don't understand NY living. Fuck you for being so cruel to him. He was expressing his sadness he could not do anything, literally NOTHING. Do you honestly think Honking would do anything? It would be masked with all the other noise of the city. The police in NY aren't super awesome as movies and television portray them. Mugging is a common occurence and the Police in NY just wont listen to a mugging report like they wpould a more action packed report. Fuck you he is obviously guilty.

You should be ashamed of yourself for not helping him. You could have honked your horn incessantly to draw their attention and at the very least, call the police on your radio or cell phone. You don't have to physically get involved but doing nothing? That's just terrible.
