Speedsafe - on Ebay 1. Purchased Speedsafe Parking Sensor July 25, 06 2. Arrived in about 10 days from UK, installed same day and found sound output too low. Normal car sounds drowned it out 3. Complained, Speedsafe issued return number and I returned faulty'sounder'. 4. Receive replacement unit Sept 7, installed, got same unsatisfactory result, 5. Many days passed, me continuing to complain that the sound was inadequate (per 2. above). Several exchanges of emails. They claiming everything was my fault. Their 30 days refund period expired by this time. 6. September 26 SpeedSafe suggests I send entire system back (not just the 'sound') and they will test it. Tells me now that refund period has expired. 7. September 27 I email them I can send the entire unit back but I don't think it is a problem with the entire unit. I explain the sound is about the same as one gets in a telephone, nowhere near what it should be for a warning device. 8. September 28, SpeedSafe says that is as loud as it is supposed to be, it is 'working to it's specification'. 9. I filed my 'negative feedback' with eBAy. 10. October 13, Square Trade email says SpeedSafe has not responded within the ten day window and the case is closed. Notes: I have hard copy of all this. SpeedSafe filed a complaint against me with Square Trade Network to which I responded with the above in which I also stated that any charges incurred must be for Speedsafe inasmuch as they were the plaintiff. This SpeedSafe device is the third parking sensor I have installed on my Vehicles. Its visual read out is the best so far. All the others were, if anything, too loud with their sound warnings - which it as it should be for a warning device. It could avoid personnel injury and perhaps a lawsuit.
