sold a breaker that wasn't for my breaker box

My house has 100amp breaker. It wewnt bad & I went to Uvalde ACE hardware & they sold me a 125amp & it fried. They will not refund the purchase price. A125amp wont work in a 100amp box. I took the original with me & asked if I could opgrade & was told yes. within 24hrs the 125 fried
