I am a 19 year old college sophomore living about 500 miles from my family, but i talk to them often on the phone and through email, so i was little surprised when i got a letter in the mail from my 12 yo brother and even more surprised when i read the contents of the letter. He wrote me to tell me he thinks he has fallen in love with me. That he thinks about me all the time and how he fantasizes about me a lot. He said he is gay and wants me to be his lover. Thanks for your reply! First off, I know he is serious and not just fucking with me for a reaction. He is not the type of boy to be pulling a prank. He is very sensitive and loving. Secondly, I agree. We need to talk about this face to face. I will address it soon and let him know we will talk about it at Thanksgiving. And YES, I do love him with all my heart....If he is gay, It will not change how I feel about him. Another person's sexual orientation is not how I judge how I feel about them....My lil brother is an amazing boy. I will never stop loving him.....in fact, that is exactly what I need to tell him!

Definitely need to be face to face. Also acknowledging that you are accepting and supportive of his sexuality (hopefully you are) would be an important step to take as well. And then just explain to him how its not realistic that you indulge his fantasies but that you still love him and ideally that will have a positive affect on him. Now another issue to take into consideration is that he may be waiting to hear from you and making him feel ignored until Thanksgiving may not be best, so over the phone or in an e-mail let him know that you got his letter but that you are waiting until you see him in person. OR he's just fucking with you and thought it would be a funny stunt to pull to see how you would react :P
