My wife declared personal bankruptcy in 1992 , long before I ever met her or married her . Part of her bankruptcy proceedings involved the Royal Bank of Canada writing - OFF an $ Amount equal to her VISA account . We got married in the year 2000 and I put my wife on my Royal Bank VISA account with a Supplementary Card . I am responsible for all charges to the ( my ) Account . Sometime during the month of September 2006 , I stupidly cut-up my wife's VISA card to have her stop using it , so that she was not able to continue using it . This was just a Domestic dispute , no overspending or excessive use . A few days later I decided to have the Royal Bank of Canada issue another VISA card for my wife , a Supplementary card which is part of my Royal Bank VISA account . To our amazement , a couple arrogant employees of the Royal Bank refused to issue a Supplementary VISA card on my account for my Wife , as I have a right to request . The Royal Bank VISA employees arrogantly stated that since my wife had declared bankruptcy in 1992 that they would not issue her a replacement VISA Card . The $amount has been previously written off by the Royal Bank . These arrogant Royal Bank employees need to be held accountable . It is the principle of the matter . My wife had already been issued a supplementary Royal Bank VISA in good standing . There were no problems with it . The new supplementary VISA card issued for my wife in 2000 was active and up-to-date and PART of my own VISA account . I want to activate it for my wife . With the other two bank VISA account / cards that I keep for Emergency use , it is notable that these other Banks issue supplementary Cards on my account for my wife ; or is it ?
