Lawn Service (TruGreen Chelan) Londonderry., NH I have been a somewhat satisfied customer of TGCL; I had both the lawn service as well as the shrub/tree service for almost 4 years. August 2006 I received a phone call from the TGCL customer service department asking if I would sign up for the grub control, I asked the price and she stated that it was $122, I refused the treatment and I she said good bye and hung up the phone. Two days later I came home to a bill on the front door for $122 for grub control. Irate I called the customer service department and to my dismay they told me that I did authorize the treatment and that I had to pay. I sent a complaint to the company stating that I was not going to pay for a mistake made by the TGCL customer service department. Since then I received at least 4 phone calls all threatening to send my bill to a collections agency. It amazes me that a company can think that it can get away with performing a service after the customer tells them not to and still expect to be paid. For the kicker I probably spent $800 plus dollars a year with TruGreen and I have discontinued the service over this $122 mistake of theirs. In my digging it is apparent that TGCL a subsidiary of Service Master has become too large and arrogant. There is more than one complaint of the same magnitude or worse, this is obviously an on common practice of TGCL. To not do business with these people and if you have any legitimate complaints please send them to your state Better Business Bureau so they can be tracked and recorded. Chris R.
