Scofflaw landlord gets hauled in

My landlord for my business is a bit of a jerk. Stretches the law. Thinks he can always get his way. Lately he treated three of my friends in a completely unacceptable manner. Two are leaving a rental unit. The other had an emergency with her mobile dwelling and he made things completely miserable for her. Never even learned her name. He operates a repair yard with big equipment, cutting safety corners right and left. Last week he got a detailed letter from OSHA on the changes he needs to make. I have photo documentation of him still violating OSHA regs in a manner that presents serious risk to his employees and others. I'll forward those photos and videos shortly. This should be interesting. The fines are extreme. He's going to tear down the building I'm in currently. I'm moving. It has an undocumented petroleum underground storage tank associated with it, one that will require removal, testing, and so on. I'll report that today. In a week or two, I'll report his illegal discharges to the local waterway. He'll probably need a permit and regular sampling. I'm thinking $1500 / month should handle that expense. He's taken a houseboat in because of lack of payment for slip space. It has an illegal direct discharge toilet. I'll report that today. There's some other fun employment law, building code, and zoning violations that are pretty obvious. He's also storing hazardous materials incorrectly. And I haven't even looked hard. I don't like people being rude to my friends.

Damn, reading this is better'n watching porn. I envy you, having had the goods on a scumbag landlord like this. I hope you send the legal authorities all the damning info you've got. I'd love to be in a position such as yours. Sad to say I know this guy is hardly the only one.

wow....anotherone! you put up with some of these asshole landlords who forgot the land part...or that they are taking peoples money in exchange for a place to live! THAT does not mean they get to rip him off or treat him or anyone else beneath him! without his tenants he would be renting!!!!!! people rent because they don't want to fix these things....if they did, they would BUY a home! they pay good money to be renters! You are one of those people that think the world should kiss their butt. If you don't get your way, you have no problem ruining lives to prove a point. I've never understood people that take enjoyment in inflicting pain on others. I'm guessing that it must be one of the few times in your life where you can control something so you abuse it. Just remember that Karmas a bitch. Maybe your payback will be to be put in a situation where someone else has complete control...like when you are being raped.
