Schools and punishments

An innapropriate punishment has been administered to my child - he was asked to carry a block of wood, the same size as his laptop- for forgetting a report book. I have spoken to the school and they simply support the teacher. I am now writing to them to ask for the next step in the procedure with the aim of having the record set straight, apologise to my son and the teacher's childish (!) attitude corrected
