school taxes

Hello. I've never been, am not, and never will be a parent. Is it truly necessary to tax all households to pay for the ever-rising costs of public school systems? Wouldn't it be better to finance the schools through a user-fee program paid for by ONLY those households having children in active classroom attendance? The Declaration of Independence and the Bill of Rights allowed citizens to make, and pay for, their own choices. Governments were not allowed to force payment from all citizens in violation of their rights. I am lifetime single and politically Libertarian. Sincere thanks for letting me air my complaint. Drive safe!!

No that wouldn't be possible or fair. You benefit from public education. Even if you are a snooty SOB who went to private school you still benefit from living in a country with educated people in it.
