Saturn transmission

I have a 2002 Saturn SL2 with under 10,000 miles on it. The transmission seems to be shifting hard. I can hear clicking but it's mostly just that noise. I don't, however, feel anything in the car when it shifts. Also, the engine fan won't run after the engine is turned off even if it is 106 outside and it seems that the engine fan sensor will let the engine get really hot before it will kick on except when the air conditioning is turned on. Then it runs all the time. Weird huh? I have heard that Saturn's have problems with their engine cooling fans. Unkle Dave.
