My best friend and I are having a fling with the same guy, at the same time. I know she is. She doesn't know I am. I've got hardcore feelings for this guy, whereas she views him as more of a toy. I'm terrified that she's going to fall for him, though, and he's going to choose her.

I guess it depends on whether this guy has hardcore feelings for you, too, or for her, or views both of you as toys. In any case, I am a fan of "open" relationships where you have a core relationship and can have flings for whatever reason (or choose not to, your choice). It doesn't sound like you are at the point of a core relationship yet, but are ready. I suggest you have an open discussion with both of them to find out where they are at. And if it all blows up in your face, then it was not meant to be, and you can stop wasting time, or be happy with some pleasant sex. I also think a threesome would be fun and let the chips fall where they may.
