rust in refridgerator

The inside of my 3 year old all GE refrigerator is rusting inside. The metal box around the compressor is peeling baxk like an oragne. The baskets inside are rusting in the back. GE resuses to fix ANYTHING. Oh, they will charge ME over $300. to fix the prpblem!
