MY COMPLAINT IS FOR CONSUMER PROTECTION AND BUYERS BEWARE: ROSE FURNITURE COMPANY, INC., HIGH POINT, NC HAS not been able to complete my furniture order I placed in 7/05. They have delivered the wrong ROWE pieces twice!! On 10/28/05 they delivered 2 out of a 3-piece ROWE SECTIONAL SOFA and a matching defective ROWE OTTOMAN. They have refused to replace a 'severely damaged' or 'used and/or reconditioned' HICKORY WHITE DINING ROOM SET AND CHINA CABINET. ROSE FURNITURE COMPANY, INC., DID NOT INSPECT MY FURNITURE ORDER FOR ACCURACY OR DAMAGE PRIOR TO DELIVERY!! I was subjected to this POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE twice!!! I have had a very bad experience with ROSE FURNITURE in High Point, NC. I placed my order in 7/6/05. On 10/28/05, they delivered either a 'severely damaged' or 'used and/or reconditioned' HICKORY WHITE Dining Room Set. I only received 2 out of a 3-piece ROWE Sectional Sofa and the ROWE Ottoman was defective. They reordered and attempted delivery of the wrong ROWE Sofa pieces twice!! I have been waiting 10 months for ROSE FURNITURE to deliver the correct ROWE Sofa Section and Ottoman. ROSE FURNITURE Company has refused to REPLACE the 'severely damaged' or 'used and/or reconditioned' HICKORY WHITE Dining Room set. I have complied with all of their demands for pictures and descriptions (they will not initiate service without pictures first!) Yet, after 10 months they now..want to pick the set up and take it back to their warehouse(leaving me without a dining room set) to be inspected by HICKORY WHITE..because apparently HICKORY WHITE can send out 'reconditioned' sets without letting the consumer know.... as long as it is up to the Mfg. standards (mine is not) my furniture should have been inspected BEFORE leaving ROSE FURNITURE. The HICKORY WHITE defects were not due to delivery, for instance the glass shelves that go into the hutch had circle marks on them where glasses previously sat..In addition to more severe damage!! BUYERS BEWARE: ROSE FURNITURE did not inspect my furniture order for neither accuracy nor damage before delivery (even though they said they did!). They delivered the wrong furniture order twice! They have refused to give a refund for pieces that have not been delivered. They have refused to REPLACE the DAMAGED/DEFFECTIVE HICKORY WHITE DINING ROOM SET they sent me October 05. They are currently refusing to provide the missing ROWE Sofa Section and ROWE Ottoman. I have been waiting 7 months for ROSE FURNITURE to send a repair tech to my home to repair a Broyhill Entertainment Center (delivered 10/05) that has two hole plugs missing and a door that does not stay closed, even though they said they would after I sent them pictures...that was 6 months ago! ROSE FURNITURE does not accept consumer's credit cards.... no recourse/no leverage! ROSE FURNITURE often took several weeks after I was expecting a delivery to notify me of mfg. delays...I often had to initiate the call to find out where the furniture was!! ROSE FURNITURE's delivery service will leave all the packing and cardboard boxes that your furniture was delivered in on your front lawn (creating the biggest eye sore) mounds and mounds of cardboard...that you have to break down, bundle up and dispose/recycle. ROSE FURNITURE does not have a toll free number. Therefore, all correspondence will be at your expense! I just wanted the Buyer to be aware.... OF ROSE FURNITURE COMPANY, HICKORY WHITE AND ROWE FURNITURE. North Carolina has ONE very vague Consumer Protection Law. To make matters worse, there is no published standards for Furniture Sales...remember Furniture Sales IS North Carolina's industry...therefore...shop at your own RISK!!! I found many furniture complaints on file with the BBB in each county and on file with the Attorney General's office...that is suppose to be working to support the consumer. Unfortunately, in my opinion...in NC there are no specific laws holding furniture retailers to high standards and not enough accountability...so you are left to defend your self...legally. Ask yourself.... is it worth it!!!!
