Ripped off in Russia

Bad apartment rental in St. Petersburg, Russia Bad apartment rental in St. Petersburg I had a recent bad experience renting what is advertised as a higher-end condo in St. Petersburg, Russia. The renting agency and condo owner, Anya Curtis of anyarentals.Com (Salt Lake City, Utah), advertises this condo on vrbo.com as a 2 bedroom, 1 bath. It is actually only a 1 bedroom with 2 ridiculous lofts. It is in my opinion a dump. Forgetting the fact that you have to enter through a dark filthy unlit alley, the hallways are dirty: they are practically impassable because of toys, sacks of concrete and junk. The apartment is deplorable. It smells and is infested with cockroaches. The bed is described as a new one purchased from a Marriott bedding supplier. Perhaps it was purchased used. To take a shower you must endure the stink of rotten eggs. You should check out the description on the website. You would think you were renting a beautiful apartment. I can go on and on about how bad the place is. The only thing that is true is the good location. Unfortunately that was not enough to keep me there. Due to the condition I was forced to move out after the first night. We would have gone immediately but could not find a hotel with 2 rooms available. It really ruined the trip as well as causing me embarassment since I had 2 invited guests. I requested a refund but my request was rejected. If anyone has had a similar experience with anyarentals.com please email me at skijames@aol.com. If anyone would like photos or more info, please contact me. Nobody should have to be ripped off like I was.
