I recently read your article of Feb 2006 about 'It's Just Lunch - Or is It?' I could totally relate to what the article stated. I joined IJL about a year ago and feel that I wasted $1500. I was told the BS sales pitch and was so excited only to have a horrible experience. The dates I went on were not what I mentioned I wanted in the interview. In fact, after the 3rd date I contacted (tried to for 9 days) the Director that I gave my $1500 check to, to see if I could interview again because they did not get what I was looking for. After leaving 9 messages and not getting a return call, after 2 weeks I was ready to put my account on hold. I did for while and early in the summer gave it another shot, only to get setup on more bad, and I mean BAD, dates. Again, I left numerous messages and never received a return call until I called the Corporate offices in San Diego and left a message with 'Customer Service'. The next day I received a call from the owner of the Columbus office. I was also told in my interview that they do turn people away that they cannot match. This is a lie! And I know this after having met many of these men. I was also told the BS of it's a 50/50 ratio with 1800 clients. This is why I have only one date (bad date) once a month? There are many more woman than men. I also feel that the web sites offer false advertising, as at least the Columbus, Ohio based web site list 4 directors and the entire 'ILJ team'. After looking at the company on the Columbus Better Business Bureau (which they are not a member of) they list number of employees as '2.'
