Manufactured housing sales positions with 'high' commissions are a complete scam folks. If you're looking to break into the business to sale high ticket manufactured homes or modulars be careful! Read the fine print and make sure they have a policy protecting 'your' prospects. If you're working for an independent dealer, remember that anyone who walks on their sales lot, walks on 'their' lot and no matter how much work or time you put into the customer, they can become the property of the owner of the lot if you don't have a contract protecting your prospects and you will have no legal recourse. Corporate lots are not a whole lot better due to the fact that if you leave their employment, even if you sign a commissions agreement, they will try to pencil out your portion of the profit by overages to contractors, so be prepared to fight. High commissions in that business are an inside joke, with gross profit margins being reduced to keep up with the down turn in real estate, portions of gross profits are being cut in half while accruals are rising sharply, think and cover your behind on these margins. Or do like I did and go into real estate!
