
Rio Hotel in Vegas

I went to Las Vegas with my hubby and 3 little ones. My hubby was attending a plumbing convention at the Rio Resort in Las Vegas as I was going to vacation and play in the pool areas with the kids. Well, the first night we are there my 3 yr old son fell and tripped over a sign at the buffet in the Rio and his head landed into the corner of the marble wall. It was gushing blood and took the resort 20 minutes to get a security guy down there for help. This guy tells me my son needs stitches. So we rush him to the ER where he did get the stitches. It ruined my entire trip. No water activities fo us! Stuck in a room for 4 days with three kids 4 years and under. BORING! I tried over and over again to log a complaint with numerous people and to my surprise a HUGE company such as Harrahs could not get there act together to help! They could have at least sent my son an ice cream sundae upstairs to make him feel better but instead I get the Risk manager who handles injuries to finally answer his phone on my 3rd day of stay.....do you know what he tells me.....He cannot help me because I wasn't watching my 3 yr old and that is why he tripped an fell and got hurt!!!!!!!!!!!!! I escalated up to the VP Of Harrahs Kevin Ortzman who listened to my story and told me that they hire out a company Sedwick to do their injury claims. Within a half hour some guy from there called me and wanted to help. I had to supply pictures and everything, Rio never even took a picture. I gave all the info and almost 3 weeks have gone by and today after I e mailed the case worker she tells me they are not going to accept my claim! DENY!!!!!!!! I would never ever reccommend anyone with health problems or children to stay at this resort. As they are very incompitant in handling injuries. It took 20 minutes for someone to show up with a med pack! This resort didn't even clean up the blood on the floor and the guests in line at the buffet had to point it out to employee's for clean up. When my son laid there bleeding 3 woman got out of line and asked where help was. I am sick to my stomach at the unprofessional way this HUGE multi trillion dollar company handles a 3 yr old hurt child with a ruined vacation. I am the one stuck with the $180 ER bill and all the wasted travel fee's, all I get is a denial!!!!!! NEVER STAY HERE!!!
