Ridiculous

I'm an avid news watcher and enjoy hearing different peoples' views about various political and national subjects. Although, lately it pains me to watch commercials pertaining to Hurricane Katrina and the new documentaries that are surfacing. The promos for the documentaries show cuts of the program that insinuate the people of New Orleans pretty much blaming the government for the hurricane itself. OK, lets no pay attention to why these people didn't leave in the first place. The New Orleans gov't had issued warning to leave the city. LETS NOT FORGET THE CITY LIES HUNDREDS OF FEET BELOW SEA LEVEL... If a hurricane was coming, I would leave. If you want to talk about the fact that the Mayor retracted his warning to leave and then issued it again and retracted etc....Why is he not given critisicm more. It is because he is black and this situation from the beginning has been racist. From Kanye West allegations that President Bush is racist to Spike Lee focusing on the African American cultures return to New Orleans, claiming that if the black culture did not return to New Orleans, it wouldn't be 'New Orleans.' Also, lets not focus on the help that is being lent now to the people of New Orleans. Money from every corner of the country has been given to the cause of the tragedy we know as Hurricane Katrina and the money count is in the billions. Personally, I dont know why we would rebuild the city below sea level again. Sure get these survivors new homes and help them as much as possible, but why rebuild the city that is, again, hundreds of feet below sea level, RIGHT BESIDE THE OCEAN. Two major points, let take this natural disaster that is the greatest natural disaster that the US has seen and learn from it. AND, lets not focus on what we did wrong, but lets focus on what has been done and being done and praise God for what help is being issued.
