The US govt. does not ban US citizens from traveling to Cuba. You cannot travel directly from the US. The US Govt bans the airlines,shipping... from doing business with Cuba. Americans can go to another country and enter Cuba. Americans cannot buy goods in Cuba and bring them back. It's all about Commerce and dollars no financial support of Cuba through Commerce. Cuban americans send money to their families.

The embargo of Cuba is unfortunate and really only hurts the common people of that nation. However, the fact that our government continues to make that mistake is not a justification for the abomination that is Obamacare. You government DICTATES that it's citizens cannot travel to Cuba or spend money in Cuba. What government DICTATES where a person can travel and where a person can spend money. I'm so fuckin' glad I'm in a country that uses taxes (we're all forced to pay taxes anyway) and allows me to sun my buns in Cuba.

It's not an issue of trust. National defense is actually a duty of the government as prescribed by the Constitution. Healthcare is not. So it's an issue of legality and fairness. Are you aware of any other goods or services that the government requires all citizens to purchase? And please don't say something like "car insurance", because not all citizens actually have cars. If the government wants to do something useful to control health insurance costs, it should regulate the cost of healthcare so that people can afford to pay their medical bills and for medicine without having to purchase insurance. At least there is precident for government regulation of prices. There is absolutely no precident for this government to force people to buy something which they don't even want.
