Salvation, and Repentance in Islaam. “Within the Qur'aan there are many Names with which Allah describes himself. Of these names is Al-Ghaafir, which in the Arabic language means The Forgiver. Allah has stated in the Qur'aan: 53. Say, 'O My servants who have transgressed against themselves [by sinning], do not despair of the mercy of Allah. Indeed, Allah forgives all sins. Indeed, it is He who is the Forgiving, the Merciful.' 54. And turn to your Lord and submit to Him before the punishment comes upon you; then you will not be helped. 55. And follow the best of what was revealed to you from your Lord before the punishment comes upon you suddenly while you perceive not. (Az-Zumar: 53-55) It was narrated from Mu'adh bin Jabal (May Allah be pleased with him). I was riding behind the Prophet (May the peace and blessing of Allah be upon him) on a donkey and he said to me 'O Mu'adh, do you know what is the right of Allah on his servants and what is the right of the servants upon Allah?' I responded: 'Allah and His Messenger know best.' He continued, 'The Right of Allah upon His servants is to worship Him Alone and never to associate anything (in worship) with him. The right of servants upon Him is not to punish any person who does not associate anything with Him (in worship)...” The fore-mentioned verses from the Qur'aan as well as the statement that I have quoted from Allah's Messenger all serve as proof that the Islaamic religion is the means through witch one can Gain forgiveness from there Lord, no matter what they may have done, or how numerous there sins may be. But there are some requirements that must be fulfilled in order to obtain Forgiveness from Allah. The first of these requirements is that the person worships Allah alone. “And turn to your Lord and submit to Him before the punishment comes upon you; then you will not be helped. “ This verse from the Qur'aan gives us the command to submit Allah, The Lord and Creator of all that exists. Islaam means submission and one who submits to Allah is Muslim. “And follow the best of what was revealed to you from your Lord before the punishment comes upon you suddenly while you perceive not.” This verse from the Qur'aan is a call to follow the best of that which has been sent down to us from our Lord, and that is the Qur'aan. It is through living ones life in accordance with the guidance and the teachings found with in the Qur'aan that ones obtains salivation in this life in the hereafter. Anas said: I heard the Messenger of Allah saying, 'Allah, the Exalted, has said: `O son of Adam! I shall go on forgiving you so long as you pray to Me and aspire for My forgiveness whatever may be your sins. O son of Adam! I do not care even if your sins should pile up to the sky and should you beg pardon of Me, I would forgive you. O son of Adam! If you come to Me with an Earth-full of sins and meet Me, not associating anything with Me in worship, I will certainly grant you as much pardon as will fill the earth.''' [At-Tirmidhi]. `Abdullah bin Mas`ood (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said, 'I know of the last of the inhabitants of the Hell to be taken out from there and the last one to enter Jannah. (Arabic for heaven)He is a man who will come out of the Fire, crawling on all fours. Allah, the Lord of glory and honor will say to him: `Go and enter Jannah.' He will go to it and think that it is full up. He will then come back and say: `O my Lord, it is full up.' Allah will say to him: `Go and enter Jannah.' He will again go to it and think that it is full up. So he will turn back. Allah will again say: `Go and enter Jannah. For you have what is equal to ten times the world.' He will say: `Are you making fun of me while you are the King?'' At this I (i.e., the narrator) saw the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) laugh till his premolars were visible and he said, 'Such man will be the last dweller of Jannah in its lowest rank.'' [Al-Bukhaaree and Muslim]. Narrated Abu Hurayra: Allah's Apostle said, 'A prostitute was forgiven by Allah, because, passing by a panting dog near a well and seeing that the dog was about to die of thirst, she took off her shoe, and tying it with her head-cover she drew out some water for it. So, Allah forgave her because of that.' Narrated Abu Hurayra: Allah's Apostle said, 'While a man was walking on a road. he became very thirsty. Then he came across a well, got down into it, drank (of its water) and then came out. Meanwhile he saw a dog panting and licking mud because of excessive thirst. The man said to himself 'This dog is suffering from the same state of thirst as I did.' So he went down the well (again) and filled his shoe (with water) and held it in his mouth and watered the dog. Allah thanked him for that deed and forgave him.' The people asked, 'O Allah's Apostle! Is there a reward for us in serving the animals?' He said, '(Yes)There is a reward for serving any living creature.' Sometimes what holds people back from embracing Islaam is the fact that don't realize that its a means through which they can obtain salvation form their sins, or if there not perfect in there practice of Islaam, then they cant be considered Muslim so then there doomed. But as the story of the prostitute, and the man who was the last person to be saved from the Hellfire both prove that there is Repentance in the religion of Islam, and to be sinful Muslim with shortcomings is better then never embracing Islaam in the first place, because even a sinful Muslim will still get in Heaven.
