removed from dating web site unfairly
Posted Mar 2, 2011 by anonymous | 133 views | 0 comments
I had a profile on a dating website and they removed me because I would not fax a copy of my drivers license or passport. They said they were weeding out the members who were not serious about a marriage relationsip. Garbage!!! They offer a free membership of which I had. I started getting messages 'urging me strongly to upgrade to a paying account'. I think they bumped me for using their free membership, a bit too long for their liking. How is giving them my drivers license or passport going to tell them how serious I am? It could leave me open for stealing my identity. I had already given them my personal information when registering. Read it for yourselves. You had been requested an Identification proof in the form of a scanned copy of a driving license / passport. As the same has not been received, we have been forced to take your profile offline. Please note that your profile will be in our database for fifteen more days. If we receive your identification proof within this period, we will re-instate your profile immediately. Good luck and we look forward to assist you in future. Sincerely Sanjay Shaadi.com Customer Relations People Interactive You said 14 Aug-2006 Why do you need proof of a drivers license or passport? This is a place for meeting people, not traveling overseas. I do not feel comfortable giving that information online. The reason I have chosen to use the free service is because I do not want to give credit card information online. If you used paypal It would have been a different matter. I have not broken any rules, you did not say anything about requiring that information when I registered. You have unfairly removed my profile. Nothing in it was false. Shaadi.com said 14 Aug-2006 Dear Member Thank you for contacting Shaadi.com and sharing your concerns clearly. We wish to inform you that we are also aware of identity theft. And being an online matrimony website, we understand your apprehension in providing the details we have requested for. We wish to inform you that as mentioned earlier the request for an Identification proof is just for verification purpose and to maintain the authenticity of the website. The same was not made with an intention to offend you in any way. Therefore, we request you to kindly scan and send the requested document to customercare@shaadi.com. Sincerely Moin Shaadi.com Customer Relations People Interactive Need more Help? Write to Customer Support Message : Why don't you just call the phone number I gave you or send a letter to my adress? I don't have a scanner. Are we all required to own scanners? Do you want a photo copy of my birth cirtificate? This is rediculous and I will be sending copies of your requests to be authenticated to the proper authorities to make sure this is not a scam to steal personal information. I asked the advice of a friend but this matter really needs to be looked into. I was urged strongly to upgrade to a paying customer and I believe this is what it is all about. You want to weed out non paying customers. That is unfair to those who pay to be able to talk to anyone. You offer free service and I don't remember your having a time limit on it. This matter will become public. If you have any doubts or need more clarification please write to us. Our Customer Support Executive shall answer your queries as soon as possible.
