Does it strike anyone as odd that 3 of the world's major religions all use the same book as their starting point (the old testament)? It makes me wonder if maybe they are on to something. It's easy to dismiss something out of hand if it isn't in your face all the time. I wonder if we aren't pretty arrogant in just assuming that all those people were wrong.

You missed my point. It's the idea that all 3 of them (which make up 54% of the world's population) derive their beliefs from the same text. That seems like a strikingly large number of people. As for your beliefs about Islam, I have no opinion on them as I am not familiar with their customs.

i really hope you aren't including islam as a 'major religion' although i am sure you are. judaism, islam and Christianity seem to be the ones you are referring to... please learn about islam, it is not a religion, it is filled with political agenda (google sharia law). anyhow, judaism and Christianity go hand in hand. of course they were on to something. i have no problem with any religion outside of islam. i abhor islamics. research their treatment of Christians, hindus, jews, atheists, etc. in their native countries. they are the least tolerant of all. that peaceful religion crap is a bunch of crap. research the islamic caliphate. they have an agenda.
