Recruitment Agencies

I have quite frankly had enough of recruitment agencies. I have applied for several positions online and in each case had a standard message left via phone or email stating 'We have received your cv and would like to meet you regarding registering with our company.' No mention whatsoever of the particular job I applied for, which in further conversation, it always conveniently is no longer available. I have been told that this is because they have to post them online for a minimum of a week. Why then have I seen the same posts still being advertised weeks later? Surely this is not legal. One agency spent three hours carefully noting my criteria and skills to ensure I was offered the right job for me, then promptly 'lost' my file. The other gripes are: they don't read the cvs properly and do not take wishes or commitments into consideration and simply offer anything vaguely similar to your criteria; and I don't wish to sound petty, but I've received two emails from different agencies addressed to someone completely different telling me I'm unsuccessful in my application obviously not cutting and pasting before sending out. My referees are sick of the cold calls from them too. That's it grumble over. I feel better now!
