Powerstoke nightmare

My newphew has a 2005 Ford F250 Diesel 6.0 powerstroke , 4 wheel drive pickup loaded with extras. He has had 3 radios 2 turbos more electrical probles to list and now his fuel milage has dropped from 17-18 MPG to 10-11 MPG. Ford basically said to bad. I heard that this new Diesel engine is garbage and that Ford has had all kinds of probles with it and in 07 is coming out with an entirely new diesel
