I ordered a package from a store in New Hampshire. I live in Maine. My Zip code 04224 and the package was sent to 04424. The address was correct. I did not receive the package and notified the store and they gave me a shipping number. I traced it and saw that it went to Danforth Me. (04424) and Danforth didn't know what to do with it and sent it to Cannan, Me (04924). They didn't know what to do with it and thay forwarded it to somewhere, nobody seems to know. I went to my local PO and they called the various PO's and they seem to remember the package but don't remember where it went. I went to the internet and the USPS site and looked up my zip code using just the address and in 10 seconds it came up. I wrote and called the customer service department. I received an email telling me they need more time and information. I haven't herd back from the phone contace although they said I would receive a call in 24 hrs. What really frosts me is that they could have looked the correct zip in 2-3 minutes and solved the problem and had a happy customer. I believe they have employees that don't care and just pass the problem on to someone else. If every one feels that way the p[roblem just cycles around the system and we, the customer, pay with higher rates. Afterall someone will have to pay the supplier for a lost package and the time it takes to handle the item. If this were multiplied by a million which is likely because of the sheer quantity they handle, the cost is great and could be prevented by someone doing the right thing.
