Pool Installers

My family had purchased a pool from Namco in January which end up being the easiest part. However, we stored it in our garage awaiting stallation time. We signed a contract with Eagle Rock Installers thinking everything was falling into place, then as it was getting close to installation time we began to make numerous phone calls and leaving messages to the company which went unreturned. Evidentally, the installer disappeared. Fine, so we hired another contractor 'Recreational Construction Inc.' This is where the complaint begins. For a week and half they've been jerking me around pushing back the install date claiming that they had to fire one of their crews so they were running behind schedule. Then finally, they called us on a Friday and said they were sending the excavator out to my house to excavate the property so it would be prepared for the installation on Monday. The excavator did his job and I paid him. Monday came along and my husband called up to find out what time the pool installers were to show, Imagine, to our surprise that the owner Dave says that he fired his main crew and he doesn't think he will be installing anymore pools. Now I have big hole sitting in my backyard, no pool standing, and I am out $235.00 for excavation fees, and $5000.00 worth of pool merchandise sitting my garage. I have a family function coming up and all we get to stare at is the big dirt spot. I'd like to know how people can get away with starting their own business and then dropping it at their leisure?
